Home - Museum Posted on March 24, 2026

Join the West Baton Rouge Museum in partnership with Baton Rouge Blues Festival and Foundation on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from Noon – 5 PM for the third annual Musicians Fête. This pre-event for the Baton Rouge Blues Fest is free and open to the public for musicians, industry professionals, and music lovers alike.

Festivities will kick off at 12 Noon with a free jambalaya lunch followed by guest presenters leading talks and a round table discussion, and opportunities to meet with industry professionals and vendors.  Contacts for potential venues for gigs, business, and marketing information will be available.

In addition to the networking and resource fair, Musicians Fête will also feature a chance for musicians to do what they do best- music! Leaders of the museum’s musical programs will be on hand to lead singing circles and jams.  Kent Louque, who leads the museum’s Old Time Jam, will lead an acoustic session, and Lazarro Nettles and Dee Davis, who make up the museum’s house band, will lead the electric jam.  Syreeta Neal, host of our monthly Sunday Chanté singing circle and a part of the famous Neal family, will lead a vocal session.  The event will conclude with karaoke in the museum’s Juke Joint.

Musicians Fête is FREE and open to the public.
