Please join the West Baton Rouge Museum on Friday, June 16th, 2023 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM for Historical Happy Hour. This month’s Happy Hour will feature music from the band, Cajun Roots and refreshments from Raising Canes. It will also serve as the opening reception for the upcoming exhibit, The River is the Road: Paintings by George Rodrigue.
Cajun Roots is a Cajun, Creole, and Zydeco band, and they are frequently featured at the West Baton Rouge Museum’s annual SugarFest. Band members play the Cajun accordion, fiddle, guitar, bass and drums, while multiple members sing songs in both Louisiana French and English. Additionally, our local Raising Canes will be out serving their famous toast and lemonade, free of charge to all guests. It is sure to be a toe-tapping good time!
The River is the Road: Paintings by George Rodrigue will be open June 16th 2023 through October 31st, 2023. The exhibition is one installation of a series of exhibitions presented by Wendy Rodrigue and her Life & Legacy Foundation, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the artist’s death. During Happy Hour, guests will be invited to come into the museum and tour the gallery spaces where Rodrigue’s art will be on view.
