Angela Gregory: A Legacy Chiseled in Stone

In celebration of the artist’s birthday, please join the West Baton Rouge Museum on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022 at 6:00 PM for a special screening of the recent Louisiana Public Broadcasting documentary, Angela Gregory: A Legacy Chiseled in Stone produced by Dorothy Kendrick and Kirk Robertson. This beautifully crafted film explores the life and work of a trailblazing artist who used her talent and tenacity to become “The Doyenne of Louisiana Sculpture” and an inspiration for women everywhere. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with celebratory cake, and following the presentation, there will be time to walk through the new exhibit gallery to see examples of her works.

Angela Gregory: A Legacy Chiseled in Stone features interviews with: Lauren Davis, Museum Curator at Louisiana’s Old State Capitol; Susan Hymel, Angela Gregory historian; Deborah Luke, sculptor and former student of Angela Gregory; and Elizabeth Chubbuck Weinstein, guest curator for West Baton Rouge Museum.
